Artist Statement
As a primarily acrylic painter, my work is inspired by the ethereal and spiritual, with a particular focus on space-themed subjects.
My acrylic paintings are characterized by their bold use of color and texture, which I layer to create a sense of depth and movement. I strive to capture the essence of my subjects, be they galaxies, nebulae or other celestial bodies. I aim to express the movement, energy, and light in my paintings to the viewer.
My main objective as an artist is to create art that is not only visually striking, but that also evokes a sense of wonder and contemplation. I want my art to be a portal for the viewer to escape the everyday and to experience something otherworldly. I hope my work can be a small reminder of the vast beauty of the universe and the infinite possibilities that it holds.
Bio
Meet Cassy (you saw her at the top of the page), born in New York and now settled in North Carolina. Cassy always had a passion for being the weird one and making cool things.
Her paintings are a blend of abstract and stylized fantasy, and she is particularly known for her use of vibrant iridescent colors and layering bold brushstrokes to depict ethereal, spacey works of art.
Cassy is a dedicated homeschooling mother, cat mom, plant mom, wife, and artist, and she is constantly pushing herself to improve her craft and reach new audiences. She believes that art has the power to bring people together and create a sense of community, especially for all of us who are out of this world, or maybe just a little “out there”.
